Frugal Fridays - library

I know most of us use the library for our kids, but I always had trouble getting books for myself - my kids just don't like waiting around while I browse for "mommy books." In the past I'd always been lucky to get to pick up a few new releases (since they are near the videos!).

I also have a nice list of books I want to read. I keep it current by adding to it whenever I hear of something new and cross out the ones I've read. Our library allows us to search the catalog from home, but not put books on hold. However, I discovered a quick phone call to the research desk with a request for a few books from my list will enable them to put the books I'd like to read on hold. They call me when they are in, I can run in and they are bound by the check out desk with my name on them! Quick and easy and keeps me in new reading material for no cost!
